Rooibos Tea is made with leaves from the South African Rooibos plant. This tea has been a very popular beverage in South African for a long time but it has lately become very popular around the world.

The most beautiful Rooibos properties are its low tannin levels , the absense of caffeine and it shigh antioxidant content. Antioxidants help fight free radials, unstable molecules that are linked to severalk health conditions.

The use of Rooibos dates back to  at least 3000 years ago. It was the Khoisan people who first started using Rooibos leaves as a herbal remedy. Dutch settlers in South Africa where particulary attracted by Rooibos as an ingredient to prepare tea, as they saw it as a more affordable alternative to black tea imported from Asia but it wasnt until the early 2000s  that Rooibos achieved commercial success worldwide.
